Chris & Amy's Wedding

Picture
This is a Fuller family photo taken when I was six days old from my maternal grandparents front yard on Long Island. That is me in my dad's arms, and clockwise from him are my sisters, Jessica and Annika, and in front is my mom.  From that point on, we spent all our summers on Long Island. Both my maternal and paternal grandparents owned summer cottages on either side of East End Beach, seen in the background of this photo. Eventually my parents built a summer cottage on the property behind my paternal grandparent's house. My summers were filled with hermit crab races, treasure hunting, searching tide pools for sea creatures, toasting marshmallows around a bonfire, waterskiing and sunsets on Cleaves Beach. What makes me smile is that summer trips home to Long Island haven't changed as I enter my 30's.  Long Island has a way of bringing out childhood fun and innocence in a way that makes me feel so lucky to have it. My grandfather Al Fuller used to say "Welcome to Paradise" to new-comers visiting East End Beach, and he couldn't have put it better. As soon as Chris and I began wedding planning, there was no better location to have the wedding. It is a place that I cherish more and more as I get older, and I know will be a piece of me and my family for the rest of my life.

Congratulations, Amy and Chris!

I'm looking forward to seeing you again at another Deutsch wedding -- YOURS this time. I hadn't realized that you're a fellow New Englander, Amy. Great choice for your celebration.

Love, Heidi HEKM
